Before we move on and learn about the newly introduced application, let us take a quick look at the basic provisions and features of Google’s Android Go App.
What is Android Go?
Commonly known as the Go edition or Android Oreo, Android GO is the basic android operating system that is specifically designed to run all basic level gadgets. Android Go is a very basic Android that powers low end android devices. It is an app that comprises three main areas including the Operating system of your device, Google Play Store and Google Apps. Google camera GO will be initially rolled out to support Nokia 1.3 which will gradually be extended to other devices. Google further said that the application comes in a lightweight design and does not eat up large chunks of internal storage. It further added that the device is capable of taking high-end photographs. The new Camera Go device comes with a clean and simple interface and also has a portrait mode for its users. In addition to this, it can also check and give the details of the number of photographs on your device along with the video storage available on your gadget. Apart from this, Google also claims that Camera Go is powered with incredible space management features and can help in clearing up storage space. It is compatible with devices up to 1 GB of RAM, however, it does not support night mode and HDR. Google has also stated that it does not have any plans to introduce the Night Mode feature on New Camera Go App and plans to keep it as an exclusive feature for Pixel devices only. In addition to the release of the Camera Go app, Google also announced that it has crossed another milestone. Its Android Go Operating System has reached the 100 million user mark. In addition to this Google said that we have been able to cross this mark because of our partnership with Safaricom. Safaricom is one of the largest telecom providers in Kenya and has added around 900,000 users in the near future. According to the recent facts and figures, around 53 % of its users are women who started using the application because of the “Life is Digital” campaign run by Safaricom. Sub-Saharan Africa suffers from gender gap problems with respect to mobile internet usage and the achievement of such huge numbers is highly commendable. At present, there are around 1,600 Android Go devices available in the market currently. This number is spread across 190 different countries. Google further added that it is in constant efforts to develop the Android Go ecosystem so that it can be made accessible to masses around the globe.
