Find if Someone Has Blocked Your Number on iPhone
When someone blocks your Number on iPhone, you will not get a Message or notification about your Phone Number being blocked by someone. However, there are definitely certain signs that can indicate whether or not your Phone Number has been blocked by someone. You will find below a number of methods to Find If Someone has Blocked your Number on iPhone.
1. Send An iMessage
An easy way to find if someone has blocked your number on iPhone is to send an iMessage to the person that you believe has blocked your Number. 1.1. Open the Messages App on your iPhone and send a short Message to the person that you believe has blocked your Number and request the person to provide a short reply to your message. 1.2. After sending the iMessage, take a look at the Read Receipts. Do you see “Delivered” on the Read receipt? As you can guess, seeing ‘Delivered’ is a good sign which does indicate that your Contact has not really blocked your Phone Number.
In case you do not see ‘Delivered’ or any other read receipt, it provides an indication of your Phone Number being blocked. However, this can also happen in case your Contact has blocked “Read Receipts”, his/her phone is dead or not connected to Data/WiFi.
2. Call the Person to Check if you have been Blocked
Make a Phone Call to the person that you believe has blocked your Number and carefully observe what happens during the Call. 2.1. Did the Phone ring as it normally does when you Call this person or did the Phone ring just once and your call was abruptly diverted to the Voice Mail? If the Phone rang more than once before being diverted to voicemail, your Contact is most likely busy and has not blocked your Phone Number. However, if the Phone rang just once, it is an indication of your phone number being blocked. Note: You need to be aware that similar signs are also noticed when a person has switched off the Phone, is on another call, is in an area with low cellular connectivity or has set Calls to Auto Divert to Voice Mail. Hence, try calling this person a few more times at different times of the day and observe whether the Calls are always being diverted to the Voice Mail. If the Calls are always being diverted to the voice mail, it provides a strong indication of your number being blocked by this person. Note: In case someone has blocked your Number on iPhone, that person will not be notified about your Calls, even if you leave Voice Messages.
3. Switch Off Caller ID and Call the Person
Switch OFF the Caller ID on your iPhone and Call the person that you believe has blocked your Number. The idea behind this method is to see whether the Phone rings more than once, with the Caller ID turned OFF. 3.1. Go to Settings > Phone > Show My Caller ID and move the toggle next to Show My Caller ID to OFF position.
3.2. After hiding Caller ID, Call the person that you believe has blocked your Number and observe what happens during the Call. This time the person that has blocked your Number won’t be able to see who is calling and also his/her iPhone won’t be able to block the Call (Due to Caller ID being hidden). If the person has blocked your Number, you should be able to observe the following. If the phone rings as normal, it confirms that this person has indeed blocked your number. If the person immediately answers the call or cuts it off after a few rings, it also confirms that your number has been blocked. However, if the phone rings once and gets transferred to voice mail (even with caller ID hidden), it is possible that there is something wrong with the Phone or Phone Number of your Contact.
4. Bypass Do Not Disturb Mode
Another possibility is that the Person that you are trying to Call may have placed his/her Phone on Do Not Disturb Mode. Also, it is possible that this person forgot to Disable the Do Not Disturb Mode, long after he/she was done using it.
